The History of Lego David Blaine

Lego David Blaine, came into the world on July 19th 1991 (although in Lego Years he is now 31)

He was born in a small village that not many would recognise.  It was a sleep hamlet, about 3 feet from the Alpine ski resort.  Once you get to London, Walk forward then turn left at Paris.  Then you'll see LDB's village just under and to the right of the Statue of Liberty.

LDB was originally from the Octan Plane set.  as shown here in this battered old, instruction booklet.  Found on a archaeological dig in my Spare Room.

But early on in his lift LDB realised his calling was not to fly around 2D landscapes for the rest of his days, and so cast away his helmet and head with sunglasses on, to find new goals and experiences.  and to find a new head.

LDB made his way to England, were he would learn off his past.  A past that would ultimately lead him to where he is now.

Once he got to England he learned of his Great Grandfather, Lego David Blaine I and how he had wowed audiences world over with his own brand of Magic and Stand-Up Comedy.

LDB learned of the stunts his Great Grandfather has performed like seeing how long he could go without blinking and going out in Winter without a coat.

"He's Crazy!! I don't see how or why hes doing it!"

That's what an on-looker said of LDB I's groundbreaking attempt to eat a donut without licking his lips, in 1976.

LDB naturally was fascinated by this and many other aspects of his Grandfathers life.  But none so much as the stunt in which he suspended himself in a wicker basket from a tree in the grounds of a Predominately Non-Lego University in America.   A stunt which as well as Entertaining had a strong political message.

Since then we have learned that letting Lego into public schools isn't a good idea what with the danger of chocking because of small parts.  But at the time LDB I was a revolutionary.

LDB longed for something that would make his as famous as LDB I.  But what?

At the time he was working for MI6, as an under cover operative, a job which - for some reason - didn't satisfy LDB's longing for adventure.

But one day LDB was walking through London when he noticed a crowd gathered round the tower bridge.   "Probably just a weird coloured pigeon" he thought to himself and walked by.

But he was strangely drawn to it.  He turned back and saw a sight that would change his life forever.  He saw a Man in a Box, and that Man was Real David Blaine.

LDB watched RDB in his box for days taking in ever aspect of Blaine's stunt.  From sitting in a box....to standing in a box......to sitting....some...more....in a.....box.

Then half way through the stunt LDB had an idea! He knew what he would do!!  But he needed some help.

And so that's when I came along.  We combined are efforts to make a stunt of the likes of which the world has never seen!!

LDB would be in a Lego Box for 44 days and I would run a website documenting it.

Both Challenges have taken their toll on us. But all for this great cause we shall be alright.

After 44 days LDB finally comes out, and I can finally stop having to think of things to write!!

But what does the future hold.  Ice?, Burying? Death Jumps into Molten Lava while having crocodiles thrown at him?

Well we'll just have to see................
